The combination of Hemidesmus Indicus (Anant mool), Picroriza Kurooa (Kutki)
and Psoralea in the ratio of 4:2:1 is very useful.
When they are mixed together, the mixture contains coumarine glycosides
and tannin etc. from Hemidesmus indicus.
Picrorhiza Kurrooa produces Picroside. It is also called Kutkoside and
an Enzyme picrolive, the part of paracetamol glactosamine as well as
theoacetamide.
The glycoside of Kutki (picrorhiza Kurrua) is soporific (mild) and is
responsible for an enteromeric action over enteromicosis and
enteronitis as well as enteronuritis. It acts on periodic fever,
splenic diseases, and jaundice. It is bitter in taste and also a
tannic. It is mainly Cholagogue (improves gall bladder function and
secretion of bile). The third part of the combination contains
glycosides of Psoralea. If there is water (abdominal fluid or
peritoneal fluid), it can be seen as hydroscopic presence. The Psoralea
in this combination carries out double action on both Rouget’s cell and
the Melanoblastic cells.
For that one, adjuvant as mustard oil leads to the exudation of
pigment. Its external use also works gradually covering decoloured
areas of skin. It has the property of Rasayan (regeneration) of the
damaged tissues (especially skin). External application of this
combination gives success in the cases of leucoderma and Psoriasis. It
acts on Alopecia as well. The combined drug is used and found to be
successful in obstinate eczema (Gaj Charma).
Extra findings are of intermediary and safe in nature. It is good for
treating jaundice, hepatomegaly (enlarged liver) and is soporific
(sleep inducing). It controls periodic fever and sudorificity
(excessive perspiration). In Psoriasis and scabies the combination has
proved itself. It has the property of stimulating nerves. It is a
healer as well as an aphrodisiac.
